Feature Request: has_n_through

Reported by Peter Ferne | November 23rd, 2009 @ 07:27 PM

It would be great to have a version of has_n analogous to has_many_through in Rails.

In my model I have some node types which are really little more than blank nodes (rather like join tables if you will) which are there primarily for structural purposes. A has_n_through method would dry up my model definitions a bit.

To be clear I see this potentially being useful where I only have a node because I can't have a relationship between a node and a relationship, i.e. a three way relationship.

    • Tag cleared.

I'm hoping to do a 0.3.3 release this week.
Thinking of putting #92 and #93 in version 0.4.0.
It will be a 0.4.0 because it will introduce braking changes (#92) - database has to be upgraded because of the rename of relationships.

Have to do a little spike on this ticket.
Of course, you are welcome to fork my git repo and come with a solution(s)

Thanks for taking the ideas on board. I'd be very happy to fork and fix but I may have to wait a couple of weeks (and just work around it for now) as I have a release of the project I am working on coming up. If and when I do I'll send you a pull request.

Hmm, maybe this is still a good idea. But this ticked on hold for the moment.
